Why I can’t stand Trumpism
You know why I can’t stand Musk and Trump? As a recently lost lifelong Republican, it’s not because of “left” vs “right.” It’s because of the People vs the darkside billionaires. Did you see Elon Musk just post on Twitter calling federal workers the “Parasite Class”? That includes scientists, people who literally just help people (for a low but livable salary), and yes, plenty of people who just need a job. Maybe you don’t agree that we should “waste” money on research or on providing more jobs for people, even if some jobs are slightly more bureaucratic than business jobs.
But you have to admit that it’s really rich coming from Elon on the same day of the announcement that the Trump administration will spend $400 million on Cybertrucks? (Sorry, the announcement’s language has been amended and it now reads “armored electric vehicles” lol.) They’re not even good, functional cars.
As a matter of fact, probably nothing Elon Musk has done would make any money at all if it wasn’t for government subsidies, tax breaks, and handouts.
(SpaceX is just tax money. Tesla came back from the brink of death twice, even though it has had tons of government subsidies every year to push green tech, and it didn’t have a profit until 2020. Twitter after takeover has just been burning money and blackmailing advertisers to come back now that Musk has powerful buddies. PayPal was successful because of Peter Thiel and in spite of Elon Musk, and then because eBay bought it.)
The MAGA movement leaders are simply the greedy wing of the hypocritical elites taking advantage of my friends — and screwing up what’s good and kind in our society in the process. That’s why I’m mad — it has nothing to do with “left” vs “right.”
