Thanks for the response! I'm sure I'm weird with my somewhat OCD book preferences, but still, that Maxwell Institute version of the Book of Mormon is one of my favorite books of all time (with the one drawback being, it's published on this thick paper with rather big dimensions). I updated the original post with a picture of pages within, where you can see the style. In addition to the formatting and removal of the index, I'm a big fan of the additions: "Testimony of Emma Smith", "Brief History of the Text", "Maps and Charts", "Joseph Smith's Statements on the Book of Mormon", and "Stories of Translation".
